The food was good, but the weinerschnitzel was too thick. Service was good. Reservations are needed. We were telling through the area and since we had none were seated in between the buildings outside. Also the main door is on the side of the restaurant halfway back. If you use the front door the hostess reprimands you.
Great authentic German food. during warmer months we love to sit in the mini beer garden alley. the decor looks straight out of a Bavarian village, and the owners give the place authenticity. portions of food and beer are large, I have rarely left without a take-away container.
If you are in the mood for German food, this place will scratch the itch. The service is great and the atmosphere is fun but I have had better German food stateside. Good: beer and wine selection, the braised meats, sauerkraut, red cabbage, desserts. Okay: potato pancakes(greasy with bland applesauce), sausage platter, nudeln). Bad: wouldn't recommend the rye bread... to anyone... ever.... unless I hate them....
We come here every time we're visiting grandma, cart Blanche. The weiner schnitzel with jager sauce is awesome. Get the kasespetzel if you need more spetzel in your life. Service is good, German beers and great atmosphere. Make a reservation on the weekends.
