I have been to the Military Exchange many times over the past few years, since discovering it back when I needed some cool gifts for my Kids, who were in College at the time. I can't say enough about the owner, Tim, who has a gift for gab & an ability to always make me laugh! His knowledge of everything Military is a great attribute, I'm sure, but I go in to talk antiques, design & retail. He has a wonderful radio show (that I have walked in on a couple of times), a great sense of community & seems to have his hands in everything that interests him. I really enjoy that, & his store reflects all of those interests!! Once I was in checking out some skillets in his extensive cast iron skillet collection, when some kids came in with pizza & drinks. PIZZA in a retail store!!! Who does that?! I was floored! But Tim told them they were allowed to eat in the front section of the store, instead of just throwing them out, as I would have done!
Thanks for saving those bags for me Tim! I also love all the cast iron pans I've gotten from you, perfectly cleaned & well seasoned!!
My husband shops at this place when he looks for anything military. There is an so much stuff here, it's amazing. Military clothes of all kinds, down to military ID'S. You ask him, I'm sure he'll find it.
Spent the afternoon trying to find an item in Canandaigua. Got the run around at Lowe's. Tried Runnings too. At least Runnings suggested Iron Mike's. There I found exactly what I needed in five minutes . Plan on going back soon just to browse the Amazing inventory!
I love to check in from time to time to see what's new & unusual. It's one of my favorite spots in Canandaigua & the surrounding areas!
A great place to check modern and older military items and clothing. Kinda hit or miss on pricing but a really cool place.
He has done some great things for the community & the Vets who come into his shop.
I have absolutely no idea how people could have anything negative to say about this place or the owner. He genuinely cares about his mountain of old and new military gear and he goes out every single weekend to find more sweet things. Even if you're not in the market, just stop by this place to take a look at what he has. His selection of various military apparel items is unmatched for 100 miles in any direction. And if you served, you could sit here and talk with the owner for hours. People say prices are high, but it's much lower than anyone online can offer. And he has the stories to back these products! He will remember your name and tell you about whatever he has, and even give recommendations if you would like. Just stop by this place, he's wonderful and his stock is mind blowing. Will return plenty of times.
